Many thanks to Strathspey Estate for facilitating this camera's location. Strathspey Estate offers a rich variety of field sports including Salmon fishing on the River Spey. The River Spey needs little introduction as one of Scotland's best known salmon rivers, and at Castle Grant Water, downstream from Grantown on Spey, the Estate has three of the best salmon beats on the river, with a total of 29 named pools. The River Spey is a river in the northeast of Scotland, the second longest and the fastest-flowing river in Scotland. It is important for salmon fishing and whisky production. Certain sections of the Spey change their course very frequently, either gradually as a result of deposition and erosion from normal flow, or in a matter of hours as a result of going into spate. Grantown-on-Spey is a town in the Highland Council Area in Scotland. It was founded in 1765 as a planned settlement on a low plateau at Freuchie beside the river Spey at the northern edge of the Cairngorm mountains, about 20 miles South East of Inverness.
